Dr. Dennis C. Daley, internationally recognized as a leader in addiction medicine, welcomes you to his professional webpage. In this site, you will have access to:
Recovery Materials for Alcohol or Drug Problems, Psychiatric Illness and Dual Disorders
Dr. Daley is pleased to offer materials to help individuals and families facing the challenges of dealing with alcohol or drug problems, psychiatric illness or a combination of the two (dual disorders or co-occurring disorders). Most of these materials are for consumers in recovery and for families. They are inexpensive, user-friendly and easy to understand, regardless of where you are in your recovery—from just starting to trying to maintain gains you have already made. Many of these written materials are interactive and will help you personalize the information presented. They provide information, hope and specific strategies on ways to manage substance use, psychiatric or dual disorders.
One of his former publishers, Learning Publications, Inc., (LP) has since gone out of business following the retirement of its owners. Dr. Daley now offers most of his books and workbooks previously published by LP, as well as new ones. He collaborate with psychiatrists and other colleagues in creating effective recovery materials. Surveys completed by patients in treatment show that workbooks and journals are rated as very helpful in terms of their learning information about illness and recovery as well as coping skills to help them manage their disorders.
See “Special Offers” section to get additional free workbooks or journals when you order 50 or more of the selected items.
Treatment Manuals and Books for Professionals
Materials for professionals in the addiction medicine and mental health fields are included. Books for clinicians represent an integration of Dr. Daley’s clinical experience, empirical studies and the clinical literature. This includes information from research he and his colleagues have conducted over the past decade at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Daley was the lead author of the Group Counseling for Cocaine Addiction, one of the evidenced-based manuals from the National Institute on Drug Abuse's series of “Therapy Manuals for Drug Addiction.“
