About the
Book
This book integrates the
extensive clinical experience of the authors, and the empirical and
clinical literature. Numerous specific clinical and systems
strategies to improve adherence to treatment for clients with
substance abuse, psychiatric illness or dual disorders are discussed
in this book. Motivational strategies based on studies of the
authors and others are incorporated related to improving adherence,
facilitating entry into treatment, moving successfully from one
level of care to the next (eg, inpatient or residential to
outpatient), and keeping clients in treatment beyond the early phase
of treatment.
