Dr. Daley is Chief of Addiction Medicine Services and Professor of Psychiatry at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Daley has decades of experience in clinical services, research and teaching and is recognized as a leader in the field of addiction medicine. He and his colleagues were one of the first groups in the U.S. to develop clinical programs for individuals with substance use and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. Dr. Daley is also one of a small group of professionals in the U.S. to write books for clinicains and workbooks for clients on strategies to reduce relapse risk among clients with substance use or co-occurring disorders.
He is pleased to offer materials on treatment and recovery from substance use, psychiatric and co-occurring disorders for individuals, families and professionals. These materials are used in many treatment programs in the U.S. and other countries. Several of his books and recovery workbooks have been translated to foreign languages.
Dr. Daley was the first in the country to write interactive workbooks on recovery from co-occurring disorders, and one of the first to write workbooks for recovery from alcohol or drug problems.
He has collaborated with nationally recognized experts on many of his writings. Dr. Daley has also written treatment manuals for the National Institute on Drug Abuse that have been used in large scale, multi-site clinical trials. He has also developed electronic and written journals to aid recovery from addiction or grief.
Dr. Daley provides lectures, grand rounds, clinical training programs and consultations on treatment of substance use, psychiatric or co-occurring disorders. He has made over over 400 presentations at conferences, universities and treatment agencies in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
